The ability to quickly see where you're at on a project and know what you can bill, can make a big difference in the day to day running of your business. In this edition of Abtrac news we've got three tips to make managing WIP and invoicing easier. 

We’ve also included an update on our 2023-2024 development path. There are a lot of exciting new features coming up in Abtrac, read on for the details.

More than just a report of what you did this month 

Unlike a basic sales or invoice report from your accounting software, the Abtrac Invoice Listing report shows time and cost assigned, write ons/write offs, etc.

You can group/filter this report by office, job owners, job type etc. giving you a more accurate representation of where you and your teams are at.

The Abtrac invoice listing report can be used as a quick monthly check to see whether you need to worry about profit leakage and if you are winning or losing.


Avoid going from person to person to find out where your invoice is at

Do you get tangled up with your invoices?

Is it hard to know who in your team is doing what and who does the next bit, before invoices are ready to be sent out to the client? 

Use invoice statuses in Abtrac so everyone in the team knows who does what, next. You can also restrict which invoices are available to be sent or committed.

Do you want to quickly find out where you are at on a project and what you need to bill?

The Manage WIP module (from the invoicing section) allows you  to see all work in progress. You can review unbilled time and cost from all time up to a chosen date. 

You can start invoicing and assigning time directly from here.

This screen also has lots of features like details of timesheets, write ons/write offs etc. and from here you can click through to access further prebilling information reports.

When did you last update your password?

The little motion of entering your password daily helps keep yours and your company’s data secure.

Be smart and be safe. Use a strong password and protect all your valuable data. Improve your password security and protect your valuable data from invaders. 

If you haven't updated your login to Abtrac recently or reviewed your staff access settings to Abtrac, now’s a good time.

Future plans for Abtrac

This year we’re celebrating 24 years of Abtrac and counting…and we’re excited to see what the next evolution of technology will bring.

The 2023-2024 development path includes:

•    New support website
•    Proposal documents
•    Mobile app for timesheets
•    Updated API
•    eInvoicing

This isn’t a definitive list, just an update on some of the key features we’re working on.
